A:       The divan base is 14” high including the chrome gliders.  However, the single bases that incorporate a slider storage option will be a total height of 15.5”. 

The total height of the bed from the floor to the top of the mattress would depend on the mattress itself.  As a rule our open coil sprung mattresses range between 8-11” deep and the pocket sprung mattresses are 11”. 

Q:       Is it possible to make the divan base lower or higher?

A:       It is possible to lower the divan to any height plus gliders, but you would not be able to include any storage as you would need a minimum height of around 12” for this.  Sliders would need to be the standard height.

Q:       I need a zip linked bed/mattress, can you provide this?

A:       Yes, we can do zip linked divans for an additional £30.  You can have drawers on the outer edges of the base so that they can be joined together.  Or they can be used as 2 singles.

Q:       Is the divan base one or 2 pieces?

A:       The single width divans (2’3”, 2’6”, 2’9”, 3’0”, 3’3” and sometimes 3’6” depending on the length) is just one piece.  3'6" and wider come in 2 pieces.  However, if you wish to split the single width base we can do this for and additional £30.

Q:       I can’t find the size I want on the website – can you help?

A:       We can make divan bases to literally any size.  However, if you require a sprung mattress it would need to be in 3” increments.

If  want the mattress to fit the base exactly and your base not sized in 3” increments you would need to purchase a foam mattress as these can be cut to any size.

Q:       What is the divan base and storage drawers made from?

A:       The divan itself is made from timber and the storage drawers are made from chipboard and MDF.

Q:       The slider option I require is showing ‘option not available’ – why is that?

A:       Sliders are only available on single sizes as they come in 1 piece, whereas the double sizes have 2 parts so the slider wouldn’t be possible.

Q:       What size are the storage drawers?

A:        The standard size drawers are 52 x 73 x 23 cm .  The small (conti) drawer size is 34 x 49 x 23cm.  Any divan base 6’0” and shorter will comprise conti drawers (1 large and 1 small). 

Q:       Is the headboard included with the divan bed set or divan base?

A:        The simple answer is no.  Our divan bases comprise a base only and the divan bed sets comprise a base and mattress only. 

If you require a headboard you would need to purchase these separately.  The good news is you can match the headboard fabric and colour to the base.

Q:       I have limited space so much extra space does the headboard need?

A:        You would need to ensure you have 2” of space for the overall length of the bed

Q:       Will my bed come with a plain or quilted footboard?

A:        Most of the bases will be plain, but if you require a padded/quilted footboard then you have the choice to choose one from the drop down options.

Q:       How much extra room would I need for the quilted footboard?

A:        You would need an additional 3” of space for your bed for the overall length of the bed

Q:       Can I purchase a headboard to match the fabric and colour of the base?

A:        The answer is yes you can!  All of our divan bases can be mixed and matched to any of our upholstered headboards.
