Which type of wood is the best for a wooden bed frame?

So what is the difference?

Hardwoods

Hardwoods originate from deciduous trees and the wood is generally darker in colour and more expensive to purchase.  The density of the wood is typically hard but not always, and it also has a close grain, which is harder to manipulate, as well as being much heavier than softwood.

Softwoods

Softwoods come from Evergreen trees and are usually lighter in colour but less expensive to purchase so much more affordable.  The density of the wood is much softer than hardwood, but not always, with a looser grain.  This loose grain makes softwood much more pliable.  It's also lighter in weight than hardwood.
