Stylishly Modern Wooden Bed Frames

Wooden beds are not a new invention, although they are considered modern, they date back to Ancient Egypt so have definitely stood the test of time.  

Today, wooden beds are still very popular and come in all shapes and sizes.  

They can be made from all manner of soft or hard woods, such as Oak, Cedarwood, Pine, Mahogany, Oak and Teak etc. and various finishes can be applied.

Typically the beds will comprise a headboard, footboard, side rails and slats and will be overall slightly longer and wider than your average divan bed which means you will need a bigger space to situate them.

Headboards can be curved, square, with knobs, or without, slatted and even engraved!  Footboards come in either a low or high foot end and can also be customised for each style. 

In the case of studio beds, there is neither a headboard nor a footboard, which is great if you don't have a lot of space!  You will also have more size options than you would on the ones with a headboard.

Some beds are made with solid wooden slats which form a harder sleeping surface, and others come with sprung slats which are kinder to your mattress as it means less wear and tear.

Drawers can be built into the bedstead, or on the simple wooden frames, their is space for drawers underneath.
